Description
By popular demand, the folks at The Whistler have been kind enough to give the Dudes a Friday night on which to do their TTTTotally awesome '90s pop dance party thing. That's the good news.

The bad news is that the particular Friday in question is Friday the 13th, which means that, if you believe in this sort of thing, you're probably going to get stabbed. And it'll probably happen right after you do something sexy because, well, that's how these things work. Shucks.

Fortunately, Dr. Drase and DJ Manwich will be keeping the would-be slashers at bay with a raging assortment of party jams from yesteryear. Because of their various debilitating emotional psychoses, serial killers hate fun. It is truly our only weapon against their kind.

Per the usual drill, PBR is $2, so you can enjoy sky-high thrills at rock-bottom prices, and those specialty mixed drinks are seriously killer. In a socially acceptable, non-life-threatening, go-ahead-and-be-sexy kind of way.

The TTTTotally Dudes at The Whistler: Because a lot can go down between Thursday the 12th and Saturday the 14th.

Description
Because not even a faltering economy can silence these jams, your friends The TTTTotally Dudes are returning with another azz-backing-up round of '90s pop hits at The Whistler. We call it a stimulus package and then some.

This time around, the Dudes are sandwiching a lineup including the more contemporary live hip hop stylings of Serengeti and Meat Number 5, beginning and then closing out the night with the sounds of a more prosperous era: Biggies, Backstreets, and Bastards of the Ol' Dirty variety... pre-meltdown Mariahs, Britneys and Lauryns... and, if the evening so calls for it, certain choice cuts from the Batman Forever soundtrack for your power, your pleasure, and your pain. Baby!

As always, PBR is a whopping $2 a can, and those Whistler guys make cocktails like you wouldn't believe, so if you're thinking of working up the guts to finally talk to that cute girl or boy from your pre-algebra class, there's plenty of liquid courage to choose from.

TTTTotally Dudes Explain It All: Because times are tough, but you're tougher, and you still really like INOJ's cover of "Love You Down." And that's cool.

Totally Dudes 2

Ever wish that Biggie and 2pac were still with us? Are you patiently waiting for the day when Brandy and Monica team up for another chartbusting duet? Do you, to this day, find yourself in awe of the sheer club-destroying funkiness of Mark Morrison's "Return of the Mack"? Is that a copy of Ace of Base's first album we see you caressing lovingly over there?

If you answered a "yes" to any of these questions, it sure sounds like you could stand to stop by Rodan tomorrow night.

This Wednesday, Jan. 21, The TTTTotally Dudes -- better known as your pals Billy "Manwich" Kalb and Dustin "Dr. Drase" Drase -- are back with all your favorite pop hits, hip hop jams and youthful indiscretions of the '90s. And you're invited! Believe it!

DJ Manwich and Dr. Drase have teamed up with The Chicago Independent Radio Project (CHIRP) to transform their next installment of '90s pop mayhem into a benefit night for community radio in Chicago. What does that mean? More Puffy, more Biggie, more Mariah and more Montell. We're packing our playlists with Busta Rhymes, Sisqo, Harvey Danger and Skee-Lo. And yeah -- you'd better believe there'll probably be some Seal. All you need to worry about is being there on time for "Da Dip."

A portion of the bar sales will go to CHIRP, a non-profit group working to secure a broadcast license for a new community radio station in Chicago that is committed to local, independent programming, and generally furthering the causes of localism, diversity, and independence in broadcasting. We are working to convince Congress and the FCC to remove existing barriers to the granting of low power FM radio licenses in urban areas, including Chicago. We hope you'll join the fight. (And buy a couple drinks for the cause!)

CHIRP and The TTTTotally Dudes: Rocking your face off just the way you like it, for the glory of bringing low-power FM to Chicago! Bring your friends! Tell your loved ones you love them! And then bring them too! This is gonna be the most fun you've had since Jay-Z first requested a what what.
